Nicki Elson grew up during the 80s and lived to write about it. Her debut novel, Three Daves, is a fun romp in a decade that was like no other.

With a background in finance and investments, fiction writing wasn't something that Nicki saw in her future; it just sort of happened. As she puts it, "I wanted to read that story, and no one else was writing it, so I had to." She weaves her writing time in with the other activities of her busy life with her family in the Chicago suburbs, and that's probably why her characters have such an authentic, realistic feel to them.

"The comment I get most often from readers of Three Daves is how well they relate to the characters, how genuine they seem. And the greatest thing is that it doesn't seem to matter whether they went to college back in the 80s or are there now---they say the experience is genuine. I love hearing that."
